I've got to admit...the Casita was one of the toughest rooms to update. It is currently used as an office, however, most potential buyers would probably use it as a bedroom. Or is it a man cave? We even considered moving out the desk and turning it into a movie room!
The initial plan was to paint the entire Casita and add a chair rail. But time constraints (and honestly a change of heart) altered the plans.
I ended up painting two feature walls in Sherwin Williams Debonair. It's a medium blue-gray that matches the other Knapweed walls quite well. One of the feature walls is behind the new wall-mounted large screen TV, which provides a very calming, non-distracting background.
The other feature wall is near the entryway where the coffee station is set up. I found an awesome wood and metal Coffee sign at Hobby Lobby, and we decided to keep the current handmade table and bright blue fridge.
Because the only artificial light in the room was the new Pawtucket ceiling fan, I decided to add a Black Metal Desk Lamp on top of the fridge. This both enhances the lighting at the entryway and showcases the fun coffee station!
I was quite impressed how the photographer took a photo from this vantage point - as if you're sitting in the boss's chair working in this updated Casita!
Per Dad's suggestion, we put the famous painting The Starry Night by Van Gogh on the TV for staging.
This was the last room we really worked on, and it was difficult to design direction at the beginning, but this space has easily become one of my favorites!
This was mostly left unchanged, other than the addition of a custom shelf and some potted plants and rolled hand towels for a cozy feeling. Just the right simple touches!
