When you’re ready to pick a country for your next theme night, gather ideas from your children. Which countries are they naturally curious about and why?

Make a list, then look at the calendar of upcoming holidays and schedule your next theme night so that it’s a celebration of that country’s culture around the holiday! This also makes it significantly easier to purchase prepared meals, making your job much, much easier and stress-free.

Holidays and Countries

Here are some ideas, based on popular U.S. annual holidays:

  • Valentine’s Day (February) – France (Paris is the city of love; history)

  • St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) – Ireland

  • Easter (April) – Israel or perhaps another Middle Eastern country

  • Cinco de Mayo (May 5) – Mexico

  • Thanksgiving (November) – England

  • Christmas (December) – Germany
